The Telegraph” is an English institution, founded in 1855 it is one of the last newspapers to be printed as a ‘broad sheet’ unlike its rivals who now print smaller copies. It’s online website has created a ranking, or rather a grouping of hotels, recognised and appreciated, under the title: “The 50 greatest hotels in Italy for a slice of the dolce vita”. Many are located between Capri, Taormina, Venice and Naples, but for Lake Como (the Lario) it lists 4 significant hotels – Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Hotel Belvedere, Villa d’Este in Cernobbio all of which are located on the west shore of Lake Como and Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni which can be found in Bellagio”. So, for a taste of the sweet life why not visit Lake Como and stay at a top 50 hotel?
If the cost of these top 50 hotels might seem a bit on the steep side, then there are plenty of hotels to suit all budgets, some along the shores of the lake from which there are stunning panoramic lake views, whilst others in elevated positions affording where guests can enjoy stunning vistas that of the lake and mountains that are truly representative of 'la dolce vita' that Lake Como has to offer.
